ANTIQUE RED MARK RS PRUSSIA KEYHOLE CAKE PLATE WITH PINK POPPY IRIS MOLD GOLD 10-1/2"
This gorgeous plate was made in Suhl, Prussia, now Germany, by the porcelain maker, Reinhold Schlegelmilch (RS).
This backstamp was used between the years 1870-1918.
This plate features an iris mold and pink poppies in the center. There are 2 keyhole openings for the handles. Measurements: 10-1/2" in diameter, 1-1/2" tall.
The gold accents are worn in several places, which is commensurate with the age of the plate. There are 3 small chipped areas on the rim of the foot of the plate. Please see picture #8. These do not detract from the aesthetics of the plate.
This plate passes the genuine true porcelain test in that if you hold it up to a light and hold your open fingers behind it, it cast a dark shadow.
If you see white spots on the pictures, that is the
reflection
from the lights.
My items are packaged extremely well - I use lots of bubble wrap and air pillows!
This is a preowned item so there is no original box, but I will package it so it will be very safe during shipment.
