Presented is a wonderful Tiffany sterling silver platter with tremendous weight. The rim is done in a great classical Chippendale style raised edge.
The underside is marked with Tiffany & Co., makers, STERLING SILVER 925-1000 for the purity, the pattern number 20344 which was first done in 1924-1925, the order number 10994, and the date letter M for the directorship of John Moore II, which ran from 1907-1947.
The tray is in excellent condition. This was used as a meat platter, and has a knife marks in its surface. The knife marks are smooth and not offensive to the touch. The platter has obviously been polished at some point to smooth out the worst of the knife marks. There are no dents, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs.
The tray measures approximately 22 inches long, 16 1/8 inches wide, and 1 1/8 inches tall.
The tray weighs 85 ounces or 2410 grams.
