    Description

Programming Cable for Motorola MC MCX and GM series VHF/UHF Mobile Radios
    Product Description
Programming Cable for most Motorola MC MCX and GM series VHF/UHF Mobile Radios
Connects directly to PC serial port, no special programmer/adapter required.
Replacement for Motorola RIB box and programming cable combination.
Unlike most other cables, no RIB (Radio Interface Box), batteries or 25-pin adapter is required, this connects directly to PC or laptop.
This cable has a unique proprietary RIB chip built into the connector shell.
Programs the following Motorola mobile radios using the front RJ-45 type, 8-pin mic connector:
    MCS-2000 (MCS2000), MCS-2100 (MCS2100)
    MC-900 (MC900), MC-2100 (MC2100)
    MCX-1200 (MCX1200), MCX-2000 (MCX2000)
    GM-900 (GM900), GM-1100 (GM1100), GM-1200 (GM1200)
    GM-2000 (GM2000)
Important notes on programming the MCS2000 series and related radios listed above:
Due to the way the Motorola SB9600 programming bus was implemented in these radios, certain configurations/revisions may exhibit
programming difficulties when using the front mic jack. The following are known Motorola issues with both
100% on-spec Motorola programming equipment and third party equipment (assuming correct programming setup):
    1. Radio attempts to enter programming mode, but display goes blank or displays an error code instead of "PRGM".
Probable cause: Some radios, usually remote-head versions, cannot be programmed reliably through the front mic jack.
    Solution:
Configure the radio with an attached head for programming, or program radio using the 25-pin accessory port (use RFguys SKU 33960 cable for accessory connector instead).
    2. Radio does not enter programming mode (radio does not react at all to read/write attempts).
    Probable c
    ause: Sense transistor
in radio head is damaged, usually by accidentally shorting the mic connector to ground or attempting to use an incorrect mic/accessory.
Solution: Replace transistor Q0662 (radio head) or program radio using the 25-pin accessory port (use RFguys SKU 33960 cable
    for accessory connector instead
    ).
DSUB-9 (9 pin) serial connector, no adapter or batteries required. Length = 32"
This is a brand new, tested and guaranteed-to-work cable.
No software is included with this cable - Programming software is readily available online.
Quality North American-manufactured product with a full life-time replacement warranty.
Unlike some transistor-based imported cables, this cable cannot damage your radio by corrupting the codeplug.
