    Description

    RS Prussia French Sèvres Painted Porcelain and Gilt Jewelry Box. Decorate a master bathroom or powder room with this colorful antique jewelry box; crafted in the style of Sèvres, France circa 1870, the porcelain bombe casket with cobalt blue and gilt border, features a hand painted pastoral scene after Francois Boucher? with a gentleman charming a lady. The Rococo box is dressed with a brass hinge and the sides are decorated with floral motifs; when opened, the inside box is embellished with hand painted floral decor. François Boucher (1703-1770), was a French painter, draughtsman and etcher, who worked in the Rococo style. Boucher is known for his idyllic and voluptuous paintings on classical themes, decorative allegories, and pastoral scenes. He was perhaps the most celebrated painter and decorative artist of the 18th century. Measures: 10.5″ W x 7″ D x 5.25″ H. There are no chips or cracks however when you open the lid, the top porcelain piece can come away from the base. It’s a beautiful piece
