Tiffany & Co. sterling silver tray dish from 1892 in repousse Richelieu pattern, which was designed by Paulding Farnham, Tiffany's chief designer of that period. The slightly raised floral decorations contribute to the beauty of this early Tiffany piece, which is sold with Tiffany packaging. It measures 12 1/4'' in length by 9 3/4'' in width by 1 1/4'' in height and bears hallmarks as shown.Founded in 1837 by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John B. Young in Brooklyn, Connecticut, as a "stationery and fancy goods emporium", with the help of Charles Tiffany's father who financed the store for only ,000 with profits from a cotton mill, Tiffany & Co. became a highly regarded brand for jewelry, gemstones, and silver.
