Vintage Frank Whiting Sterling Pressed Butterflies Milkweed Pierced Edge Tray

Description

Sweet pressed butterfly and milkweed tray with a sterling frame by the Frank M. Whiting Company. Numbered 8856. This mark was used until 1940, so my guess is that the tray is c1920's-1930's.
The 'butterflies' are actually cabbage moths with a background of milkweed fluff and dried grasses.  Mostly cream white in color with back spots. It will pick up whatever color it is displayed against. Pressed between 2 pieces of glass with a pierced edge sterling frame.  A heavy piece with substantial framing.
Measures 7.5" in diameter overall; the glass is 5.5".  The pieced edge has some slight bends and there are a few small dimples in the frame at other spots.  Displays nicely though!  I can't make out what the tag on the back says, perhaps you can read the writing.
